Ambika
Head, Research & Development

Ambika, a courageous student who left an easy paying project and took the risk of joining the dream called EV Research, holds a Master’s in Botany and Ph.D. in Forestry (Forest Pathology). She is in love with fungus, in particular forest fungi, and believes fungus like mushrooms, etc. are important constituents of life on this planet. She leaves no instance of spotting mushrooms growing anywhere and everywhere, from a non-descript single piece in a flower pot (by mistake, probably) or a tree trunk full of fruiting bodies. Fungus and the vibrant world of fungi attracts her like flowers full of nectar attracts bees. Her eyes light up on a slight sight of mushrooms and fungus.

She worked on finding fungi that can be used to prepare dyes to dye fabric. A true environmentalist at heart, she wants to flood the world with myriad colors derived from fungi and save the world from collapsing under the weight of chemical-full synthetic dyes that not only pollute the water turning it onto a toxic pool but also provide employment to forest dependent communities that can be trained to identify and collect fungus from forests that can be used to produce colour.

She is the lead in creating a research & development cell that can also incubate ideas and products and draw young talent into entrepreneurship.
